飛行機の窓越しに見えた川と寺院の屋根は、モヤを通してもなお強く輝き、熱気を感じた。
初めて訪れたタイでは、発展した都市とそのすぐ隣に広がるスラム街との対比や、豊かな自然と動物が印象的だった。道中では、走る車の屋根に犬が立つ光景や、夜になると布で覆われる仏像、伝統市場で猫が食肉の上を歩くなど、驚く場面に何度も出会い、そして笑顔で挨拶を向けてくる人々の表情が強く心に残っている。まるでRPGのような体験で、旅人である私の装備は履きやすい靴とカメラだけ。次に何に遭遇するか分からない、常にドキドキしていた。
急速な都市開発が進む中で、雑多な日常風景が失われつつあることに寂しさを覚えるが、その混沌の中に流れるゆったりとした空気がタイの魅力だと感じている。


The river and the rooftops of temples seen through the airplane window shone even through the haze, and I could feel the heat.

On my first visit to Thailand, the contrast between the developed cities and the slum areas right next to them, as well as the richness of nature and animals, left an impression on me. Along the way, I encountered surprising scenes many times: a dog standing on the roof of a moving car, Buddha statues covered with cloth at night, and a cat walking across meat in a traditional market. The faces of people who greeted me with smiles have stayed in my memory.

It was an experience like an RPG. As a traveler, my only equipment was a pair of comfortable shoes and a camera. I was constantly excited, never knowing what I might encounter next.

As rapid urban development continues, I feel a sense of sadness that these cluttered, everyday scenes are gradually disappearing. Yet I feel that the slow, unhurried atmosphere flowing within this chaos is what makes up the appeal of Thailand.
